Tyttebær (Lingonberries)

Ripe lingonberries (Tyttebær in Norwegian).

There are a lot of useful berries that grow in Norway. One of my favorite is a sour and somewhat sugar-rich berry called Lingonberry. In Norwegian: Tyttebær, and in Finnish: Puolukka. This berry preserves well in jams and when frozen, so berries picked in the fall are used throughout the winter.
