This week, UiT hosted talks by Jocelyn Bell Burnell and Lynn Rothschild, two superlady astrophysicists!

Jocelyn Bell Burnell gave a lecture on the origin of elements that we observe on earth, covering properties of the early universe, through the formation of first generation stars, supernovae, and formation of second- and third-generation planetary systems enriched with heavy elements.

Lynn Rothschild, an astrobiologist working with NASA, discussed the possibilities of life in the Universe and current projects searching for extraterrestrial life.
